About the experience
Hey there, I'm Daria, also known as Dash, a creative photographer based right here in Auckland. I've discovered the incredible power of essential oils in enhancing not just my photography, but also my overall well-being. These oils add another layer of depth to my creative process, helping me stay focused, energized, and inspired.
Aromapsychology is a field within psychology that leverages essential oils to help individuals overcome negative attitudes and adjust their emotional states. In the scientific system of aromapsychology, special significance is given to seven groups of different scents. Through various experiments, it has been noted that each scent uniquely affects our state and perception of the world. Each aroma has its influence and subtle tools for impacting the human psyche.
An aromapsychologist uses scents like a conductor with an orchestra—individual instruments—or like a painter with colors, mixing them on a palette.
Initially, scents help conduct a diagnosis. Interestingly, the individual doesn’t need to articulate their concerns; they simply immerse themselves in the world of essential oils and their associations. Their choices speak volumes to the specialist, more than hundreds of words could.
I've created this website to talk about the benefits of aromatherapy and aroma assessment and to help people get acquainted with pure essential oils.
Let's make some magic together!
Aroma Assessment
Aroma Assessment is an engaging process of sampling 25+ scents. The individual must determine which ones they like, dislike, and feel neutral about. The aromapsychologist then tallies the scents chosen in each group using a specific system. This quickly reveals which scents are prioritized, which are rejected, and which are neutral. The main goal of Aroma Assessment is to first identify all nuances of a person’s state and then select the most suitable correction methods for them. A crucial part of the transformation process is the resource scent—a blend of essential oils created by the aromapsychologist based on the results of the psychoaroma diagnosis. This life-giving elixir is the key to gently regulating processes of excitation and inhibition.
How Does Aromapsychology Work?
Aromapsychology comprises seven groups of scents:
spicy, camphor, citrus, coniferous, masculine, feminine, and cultic.
Here’s a brief overview of their significance:
Spicy Group: Reflects the satisfaction of basic needs in food, sex, comfort, and energy, as well as the individual's attention to their health.
Camphor Group: Indicates a person’s willpower, readiness to achieve goals, and ability to overcome obstacles.
Citrus Group: A marker of sociability, indicating how easily a person forms social connections. It can also reveal signs of emotional burnout or depression.
Coniferous Group: Helps understand the development of logical thinking and the ability to apply knowledge practically.
Masculine Group: Symbolizes leadership for both genders, aiding in assessing readiness for high responsibility and motivation of others.
Feminine Group: Represents emotions, intuition, and sensitivity. If men prefer these scents, it signifies their emotional depth and understanding of women.
Cultic Group: Reflects a person's worldview, spiritual life, and readiness for growth.
It's important to note that all scents are universal, suitable for both men and women, and their preferences can change depending on psychological state and inner mood.
